Families Fighting Addiction

Families dealing with individuals struggling with addiction need support.
Drug addiction affects the whole family, not just the one addicted. Having resources to glean from helps individuals to endure during life struggles and to know they are not alone.
Learning skills and techniques will help family members of addicts gain knowledge on addiction, triggers, enabling, healthy boundaries, and how to love from a distance. Family members should find strength needed to empower them through dealing with their lost loved one.
Families connecting to the correct resources and others who have experienced the hardship of addiction will increase their knowledge of how to over come the problems and hurts of the addicts dysfunction.
Family members have to find the ability to a healthy way of living.
Teaching families healthy boundaries to the addict as they learn how to love from a distance will empower them instead of allowing the addiction to destroy the family.
Helping the family to focus on new ways of thinking when problems do arise will lead to healthier problem solving by not enabling or breaking safe boundaries in relationships.
Families have to realize dysfunctional characteristics and how to change them.
Families dealing with addiction heal as they acknowledge God’s leading, encouraging, comfort, and guidance through the process.
Family Support
Families Fighting Addiction meetings are held as a support group to help the family members of addicts.   These meetings are designed to inform and educate families on what the addict is going thru while support is given to the family members.
